I give priority to health and temperament. Without health one does not have a cat, without breed character one does not have a Bengal. My primary focus is brown rosetted Bengals. I, like most Bengal enthusiasts was initially attracted to the breed because of their exotic looks and entertaining personality. After researching the breed , I decided that I would like to help preserve and improve this amazing ,beautiful breed through selective breeding and to breed My perfect Bengals. Through years of breeding I have learned that no individual Bengal is “perfect” and I realize that my vision of the perfect Bengal possibly will never be acheived in one individual cat. Often, improvement in one area invariably leads to loss in another. This is my vision of the perfect Bengal cat:- Optimum health - Sweet, intelligent, interactive temperament - Smaller, rounded, well placed ears- Large eyes (nocturnal expression)- Onvex profile- Deep, well finished chin- Puffy and prominent whisker pads- Long, low-set body that creates a wild walk- Short, soft, tight-fitting coat- Light background color- Large, outlined rosettes set on a horizontal flow- Rosette outlines as dark as possible- Rosettes going down spine - Rosetted thick tail- No rib bars - Spotted legs - front and back Breeding Philosophy Bengals have become extremely popular in recent years which has created a lot of quick-start breeders that are simply breeding this breed for money. It is a sad but true fact. On the other hand, there are breeders that put their heart and soul into the breed. I'm in the latter group and pride on my ethics and dedication to the breed as a whole. Breeding is never to be taken lightly.Policy of visiting of our kittensIt may seem like a good idea to come visit young kittens to see which one might "fit" you best, but kittens aren't like puppies. Until they are weaned, they focus on their mother and littermates, and they don't readily go to strangers. Cats are much more wary than dogs, and need time to get to know someone before they totally accept them. The Trust - not goes without saying. Also cat's trust - it is necessary to deserve, giving love and good care.I not conduct and I will never conduct tours of our home. I'm more than happy to provide references from families who have adopted our kittens. This website is designed to provide comprehensive information regarding my philosophy, adoption information and photos of our kittens. Please, understand, I'm at Milamurbengals, responsible for health and well-being of our babies and cats. By allowing tours into our nursery area, I'm potentially exposing our kittens to disease or bacteria that may be carried on the hands, clothing, shoes of well-intentioned visitors. Also we must respect the privacy of nursing mother's and her young babies that haven’t received their vaccinations. Mother's with babies feel very threatened having strangers come in, and in some cases can be so upset will hurt or even abandon her babies.Once you’ve selected a kitten and it is past the first vaccination - giving their immune system a better defense - you will be able to make an appointment to visit your reserved kitten. The appointment needs to made with a couple of days advance notice. My cattery is in-home and my schedule is very busy, I will need to make sure I can be available at your convenient time. I feel this policy is necessary in order to protect our very young and vulnerable babies and I will not risk their health just to make a "sale".Thank you for understanding!
